Tonight in Beverly Hills, the spanking new Lazarides gallery (with a sister gallery in the UK) showcased the predictably shocking work of artists Conor Harrington, Antony Micallef, JR and Vhils in an exhibit entitled "Euro Trash". Luckily the art work won out over the Laker's game that was cleverly on display alongside a mixed-media exhibit. I have to say this is a first and only in LA. One of my personal faves was a piece by Vhils artist Alexandre Farto, who creates his works from recycled materials such as billboards. He takes the concept of "Vandalism as art" to a new high.
