March 4, 2011- 2011 marked the LuxLady's first foray into the world that is Paris Fashion Week. Having been to Paris many times before, this trip marked Luxlife's debut at the shows in Paris and with a bang it was!
Celebrities in attendance were Kanye West and Boy George.
First up, Vivienne Westwood's Gold Label collection for Autumn-Winter 2011/2012 at the Place de la Concorde. Jimmy Paul for Bumble and Bumble worked the model's hair into a frenzy while MAC Cosmetics provided them with a fiercely frightening visage.
Here is an excerpt from a direct quote from Ms. Westwood herself:
"Fashion is global, influence comes from everywhere in the world. You can wear anything in our part of the world. Anything goes.
But don't let the world get smaller. World Wide Woman cultivates her values for the sake of our planet and all who live on her. We hope she is growing more powerful and in numbers, in touch with the wonder of reality, controlling her man through the fire of her imagination and vision.
It is women who forge the bonds of society."
The gold, glittery runway was a girl's fashion fantasy come true. What more could you want from your first Paris runway show than a sublime spectacle such as the one the incomparable Vivienne Westwood presented? The music, hair and make-up were perfectly suited for the theatrical presentation.
I have always had great respect and admiration for Vivienne Westwood's impeccable tailoring and take no prisoners fashion edict. Luxlife is so happy to have her new store add polish to Los Angeles' fashion game and we can't wait for the store's grand opening party invitation...
